What's included
Words and phrases AI tools lean on ("unlock", "seamless", "elevate", "in today's digital landscape"), long dashes, very even sentence lengths and generic headings, scored page by page.
Tell-tale leftovers such as "As an AI language model", "Feel free to adjust" or "[Your Company Name]" that show text was copied straight from a chatbot.
The fingerprints left in a site's code by AI builders such as Lovable, Bolt, Vercel v0, Durable, Mixo and others.
The defaults that tools like Claude Code and Cursor leave behind when nobody changes them, such as starter page titles, placeholder images, stock components, icons and fonts.
Images whose file names or descriptions point to AI image tools such as DALL-E, Midjourney, Firefly or Gemini.
The platform, page builder, frameworks, hosting and CDN, analytics, chat and cookie tools the site runs on.
The programming language behind the site where it can be seen (PHP, JavaScript, Python, .NET and more) and the language the content is written in.
The detail
AI tools can produce a whole website in minutes, and lots of businesses now use them for their copy. That's fine, but unedited AI text has a recognisable style: the same buzzwords, the same rhythm and the same generic promises as thousands of other sites. Customers notice, and it does nothing to set you apart.
Your report shows which pages read as AI-written and why, so you know where a rewrite would make the biggest difference. It also lists what the site is built with, which is handy if you're comparing suppliers or taking over a site someone else built.
That's fine too. Our AI website help service launches, fixes and hosts sites made with Claude, ChatGPT, Lovable, Vercel and the rest, and our free SEO health check shows what might be holding it back on Google.
Questions
Yes. There's no charge and no catch. You'll get your report by email, and we won't add you to a mailing list. If you'd like help with anything, you can reply to the report, but there's no obligation.
It's a guide, not proof. It picks up the patterns that unedited AI writing usually has, but AI text that's been carefully edited can read as human, and some people naturally write in a way that looks like AI. Treat a "Likely AI" result as a prompt to read the page again with fresh eyes.
No. Vercel, Netlify and Next.js are popular with AI coding tools, but professional developers and many large brands use them too, so the report lists them without counting them. What gives an AI-built site away is several of the tools' default settings left unchanged together.
Not in itself. Google says it rewards helpful content however it's made. The problem is that unedited AI copy tends to be generic, so it rarely stands out, builds trust or wins enquiries. Adding your own experience, examples and details fixes that.
To keep the free check quick and to make sure we never put load on anyone's website. For larger sites, get in touch and we'll check every page.
First we'll email you a link to confirm your email address, so reports only ever go to the person who asked for them. Once you click it, your report usually arrives within a couple of minutes. If you can't see either email, check your spam or junk folder.
No. It's completely passive. We load up to 10 pages once each, with a short pause between them, the same way a visitor or search engine would. Nothing is changed or attacked.
We use your email address to send the report and keep a copy so we know who asked. We don't sell it or use it for marketing. See our privacy policy for full details.
